TO THE FAITHFUL OF OUR PASTORATE,
This month we celebrate our patron saint, Saint Patrick, on March 18. St. Patrick's Feast Day is normally March 17, but this year it is March 18. When a major feast falls on a Sunday, it is moved to the next day to celebrate it. In anticipation of this upcoming Solemnity, below is the St. Patrick Novena to be prayed the nine days preceding March 18. Join us in the feast day celebration Mass at St. Patrick Church at 6pm on March 18; please note there will not be a 7:30am Mass.
And as we approach the solemnity of St. Joseph - Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary - on March 19, we invite you to join in praying the Novena to St. Joseph for increased enrollment at IHM Catholic School. This nine day novena will begin on March 11 and continue through March 19. For the past seven years we have prayed this and St. Joseph has undoubtedly interceded for this intention! Come celebrate Holy Mass with the school students at 8:30am on March 19. Lastly, please join us at our Penance Service with Adoration, confession and music on March 20 at 6pm at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. St. Patrick & St. Joseph, pray for us! |

Helping Christians in the Holy Land
Consider helping the Christians in the Holy Land by donating to the Good Friday Collection. Last year, Catholics across our country helped make an incredible difference in many lives by helping to create more than 1,500 jobs and rehabilitate over 100 homes for Christian families in the Holy Land. This year, as war continues in the many countries that make up the Holy Land, your help is needed more than ever! Mary's Rosary Assemblers Will be hosting their Lenten Rosary and Chaplet Sale after the weekend Masses on the following dates: March 9 & 10 at SP and March 17 at IHM. Besides lovely Rosaries, a new item for this Lent is the Chaplet of the Seven Sorrows of Mary. All proceeds will be used to make and distribute Rosaries to foreign missions, hospitals, nursing homes, hospice, and parishes/schools upon request in the Madison Diocese. Easter Basket Donations On March 16 the IHM St. Vincent de Paul conference and St. Anne’s Society will assemble Easter Baskets for families in need. Donation items, such as small toys, Easter candy, Easter baskets, plastic eggs and tissue paper are needed. Place donations in the labeled bins in the church entry area at IHM, CTK or SP. Contact Pat Ponty (608-221-4330) or Mary Anderson (608-221-1926) with questions.

Our parish Lenten almsgiving will support Our Lady of Hope Clinic, a family focused, non-profit clinic in Madison that offers affordable access to personal healthcare. Donation boxes are available in the back of church. Please take one or more home with you. As you fast during Lent from things that you enjoy, set aside the money you would normally have spent and place it in the box. Return it on Palm Sunday. You can also donate online. Lenten Fasting & Abstinence For Catholics, Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are obligatory days of fasting (age 18 to 59) and abstinence from meat (ages 14 and older). In addition, all Fridays during Lent are obligatory days of abstinence from meat. When fasting, a person is permitted to eat one full meal, as well as two smaller meals that together are not equal to a full meal.

Please bring in your palms from last year and place them in the basket in the back of church.
