In May, our diocesan Catholic Charities, the Apostolate for Persons with Disabilities, and Catholic Charities USA are hosting a half-day workshop regarding trauma, its impacts on mental and spiritual well-being, and practical tools and practices to help participants and others move forward. The workshop will be led by Dr. Mike Carotta, an adjunct theology instructor at Creighton University and author of Catholic Charities USA's parish-based trauma awareness resource called "Whole Hearted." The workshop is intended to help participants begin to recognize and process their own traumatic experiences and equip them to help others in a parish setting.
The workshop is free to attend and includes lunch. It'll be held May 1 from 12:00-4:30 p.m. in the upper auditorium at Holy Name Heights, 702 S. High Point Rd., Madison.
