TO THE FAITHFUL OF OUR PASTORATE,
Many blessings to you and your family during this season of Holy Lent, may the Three Disciplines of Lent: Fasting, Prayer, Almsgiving lead each of us deeper into the Pascal Mystery.
I wanted to offer a short update on the living situation of Fr. Mark and myself. As most of you know, Fr. Mark and I have been residing at IHM rectory. The current living arrangement was only a temporary solution to the ultimate goal of renovating space to provide two or even three distinct apartments at IHM rectory. As I started working with contractors on architecture and rough planning costs it became apparent that this might be a larger project than I anticipated and a question whether the parish had the financial ability to afford such a project at this time. After consulting Bishop Hying and knowing that a renovation of space might be a little down the road, Fr. Mark is going to be residing at St. Patrick rectory starting this week. Despite this change my long-term plan of renovating the office space at IHM into proper apartment(s) still remains, as the ideal long-term goal would be to have a place for all priests to reside together. Please note that even though we have a priest residing at each location we will continue to work as a priest team, rotating and ministering at each location throughout our pastorate as we have been doing. Thank you for your ongoing prayers for your priests, it’s an honor to serve you, to bring the Good News of Jesus Christ to the faithful of Pastorate 26. Fr. Chad M. Droessler |
